Deltas In the Community
The Wilmington NC Alumnae Chapter actively supports and participates in community initiatives beyond our hosted programs and events. Through partnerships, advocacy, and volunteerism, we extend our impact across New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties.
Community Impact
Our members collaborate with local organizations to:
Host resource fairs and health screenings.
Advocate for social justice and equity.
Support youth development and mentorship.
DFCF Celebration of African American Arts & Culture
After the Foundation’s successful Shades of Sisterhood Tea during the NC Azalea Festival weekend in 2023, the Delta Foundation of the Cape Fear (DFCF) approached the NC Azalea Festival Committee and became the first African American organization added to the Festival’s calendar of events with its 2024 inaugural Celebration of African American Arts and Culture. This event is a celebration of the African American experience through visual and performing arts, supported by a grant from the Wilmington/New Hanover Arts Council. Having secured an additional Grassroots grant from the Arts Council, plans are underway for a reprisal at the 2025 NC Azalea Festival with an emphasis on featuring performing artists from NC’s historically black colleges and universities!

MLK Breakfast
Each year, we attend the New Hanover County NAACP in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through an inspirational breakfast and community discussions on advancing equality and justice.
